The relocation from suburban Arenastaden to central Stockholm marked a decisive shift in how Svenska Spel works and presents itself. Driven by new ways of working and the ambition to create a more vibrant and collaborative culture, the move was focused on shaping a workplace that reflects the company’s renewed identity. The result is a headquarters that strengthens the brand, inspires collaboration, and offers employees an environment where responsibility and the joy of play coexist.

Challenge
• As new ways of working, including remote and activity-based models, reshaped daily life, the large office in
• Arenastaden no longer aligned with the company’s needs.
• Svenska Spel wanted a central location that would act as a visible and accessible hub, reflecting its role in Swedish society.
• A change in company leadership during the project required priorities to be revisited and aligned with Svenska Spel’s evolving strategy.
Process
• Studio Stockholm and partner Savills evaluated options and selected Glashuset at Slussen for its strong visibility, generous terrace, and flexible floor plan.
• A design concept was developed around joy, a winning spirit, and responsible play, rooted in a distinctly Stockholm identity and building on lessons from Svenska Spel’s earlier transformation in Visby.
• The layout introduced central hubs, flexible rooms, and a large lounge connected to the terrace, while reusing much of the existing furniture and interior to ensure both sustainability and efficiency.
Result
• Office space was reduced by two thirds while improving efficiency, functionality, and the overall work environment.
• The project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget, supported by close collaboration with the property owner and contractor.
• The relocation has been described as a highly successful project, resulting in a central, agile, and contemporary hub that strengthens collaboration, visibility, and brand experience.
