When Lumera decided to leave their previous premises on Regeringsgatan, the ambition was clear: create a workplace that brings people together, strengthens the company identity, and reflects their role as a leading player in the life and pension industry. The move into Europahuset offered a unique opportunity. By combining extensive reuse with carefully chosen additions, Studio Stockholm transformed a raw, industrial environment into a welcoming and conceptually streamlined workspace. The result is a headquarters that balances Lumera’s strong brand identity with a warm, functional environment that employees are proud to call their own.
Challenge
● Premises designed for a previous tenant, with limited scope for alterations.
● A strict, fixed budget with no room for overruns, requiring maximum reuse and cost efficiency.
● Integrating Lumera’s bold brand colors and visual identity into an existing industrial environment without overwhelming the space.
Process
● Inventoried and reused both existing furniture from Lumera and previous tenant, selling or recycling what was not needed.
● Introduced warmth and variety through new colors, lighting, and selected furniture additions, while respecting the raw architecture.
● Balanced branding ambitions with architectural integrity by applying colors and logos in signage, reception, and key social areas.
Result
● A cohesive and inviting office environment that reflects Lumera’s values and strengthens internal pride.
● Smart reuse strategy that combined sustainability with budget discipline.
● A living, varied workspace with improved technology and collaborative zones that attract employees back to the office.
