Meet Martin
Meet Martin! Martin Eckerberg Ollas has been a valued part of Studio Stockholm Arkitektur for six years, and he continues to amaze us with his exceptional talent in furniture design. As a member of our furniture design team, Martin has created numerous beloved pieces—not just for our projects, but also for production. Most recently, they have designed a collection furniture and textile for Dusty Deco.
Martin is not only a talented designer and interior architect; but also a valuable team player who brings positive energy to the studio with his infectious smile, signature wild hair, and sharp sense of humour.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design from Malmstens Linköpings universitet, Martin’s education focused on creativity and combining theory with hands-on practice to shape ideas into physical forms. Before joining Studio Stockholm, he gained experience at Sandell Sandberg, Tamburstore, and through his own companies, “Fish and Pink” and “Formellt.” And it all started with his first love: cabinet making.
For Martin, the best part of his job is working with what he’s passionate about—furniture. He loves designing bespoke pieces for office projects and crafting products for the furniture industry. It’s all about passing on craftsmanship and creating furniture that’s designed for people, not just for mass production. Outside of work, Martin is an outdoor enthusiast. Whether fishing, hiking, or simply spending time in nature with family and friends, he thrives on the great outdoors. Recently, Martin and his family made a big move to the Archipelago, where they have designed and built their own home and studio, perfectly blending creativity with nature. Want a closer look at their journey? Check out “Hemma hos inredningsarkitekten” on SVT!
When it comes to inspiration, Martin is a fan of design icon Enzo Mari and his book Autoprogettazione. The book’s message of creating furniture using simple tools and local materials is as relevant today as it was in 1974. In fact, one of Martin’s favourite pieces, a bookshelf inspired by Mari’s concepts, has been a cherished companion for over a decade.
Right now, the excitement at Studio Stockholm Arkitektur is palpable as the design team gears up to launch several of our own furniture pieces at the upcoming Furniture Fair. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on—stay tuned!
