Studio Stockholm welcomes Rasmus and Louise to the Studio

July 2, 2021

A couple of weeks ago, Studio Stockholm had the pleasure of welcoming two new colleagues to the studio – Rasmus Hellgren, Architect, and Louise Leijonmarck, Interior Architect. With solid experience from their respective areas, Louise and Rasmus are an important piece of the puzzle as Studio Stockholm aims to further strengthen its offering.

With a master’s degree in architecture from Lunds Tekniska Högskola, Rasmus Hellgren started off his career working with cultural-historical buildings. Since then, he has primarily been focusing on different types of housing projects, most recently as an architect at ÅWL Arkitekter. His main area of interest as well as expertise, however, is parametric design – to develop, and make use of, parametric workflows to bring back the focus on craftsmanship into architecture.

–  I find it incredibly exciting with the opportunities that new technology means for our industry. To me, parametric design is tool that helps improve the process, the result and – by that – client satisfaction. By streamlining what was previously done manually, we as architects can focus on the parts where we create the most value – strategy and creativity, says Rasmus.

Louise Leijonmarck, in turn, holds a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture from University of the Arts in London where she also worked as an Interior Architect for several London based offices. In 2014, Louise returned to Stockholm to work at Koncept TM. Throughout her career, she has primarily been focusing on office design, food and beverage as well as hotels. Louise is especially passionate about sustainability, functionality, and smartness – and how to create long-term value for her clients.

–  The past year has given us a number of reasons to reflect on what the office of the future will be like, and how we can work to make both architecture and design more sustainable – in all aspects. I am convinced that we need to start by looking at how we can create smart and flexible solutions that generate value in the short as well as the long run, says Louise.

Both Louise and Rasmus were attracted by the studio’s offering, focusing on business understanding combined with creative excellence. The studio’s profile as a platform for the modern architect – and, as a result, its organizational structure and culture – was also a contributing factor for wanting to join the team.

–  I am beyond excited to finally be part of this group of talented people. I’m obviously looking forward to all exciting projects, but also to learn from and be inspired by my new colleagues. In return, I hope that I can contribute with new thoughts, ideas, and perspectives on spatiality, says Louise.

–  I couldn’t agree more with Louise. In addition to my analytical skills and drive to improve ways of working, I hope to contribute with a genuine passion for our occupation. As an architect, you have people’s emotional and visual impressions in your hands – that’s a privilege, says Rasmus.
