Studio Stockholm Designs Vasakronan’s Uppsala Office

November 26, 2014

After the huge success of the development of Vasakronan’s headquarters, it is now time to develop the concept further. Vasakronan’s Uppsala office will be based on the same successful activity-based approach, but with an additional dimension. The space that Vasakronan is about to move into is bigger than they require. As the trend to share office space has become increasingly popular, Vasakronan has decided to open up parts of the office to other organisations with a focus on creating added value for their clients. The venue will thus eventually be shared between Vasakronan and other companies in order to create innovative interactions between organisations. Marco Checchi and Boel Allende, now at Studio Stockholm Arkitektur, were also responsible for the interior design of Vasakronan’s headquarters, which was completed in December 2012.

“It feels really exciting to once again develop a new project for Vasakronan. It is an exciting company that invests heavily in the development of offices. Our concept for the Uppsala office is a campus-style. The concept has clear references to both the city and the sharing of knowledge”, says Boel Allende, product manager at Studio Stockholm Arkitektur.

The project is an example of how Studio Stockholm Arkitektur works with an entire process for companies wishing to develop an activity-based approach. Studio Stockholm Arkitektur has expanded rapidly since its inception and currently has 22 employees.

“We are in the midst of an incredibly exciting journey introducing a powerful tool in the form of our new office. The focus is on doing things together and increasing cooperation in order to become even more successful. This dynamic collaboration with Studio Stockholm feels great. We feel confident in their skills and believe they will offer all the perspectives that we require during this journey”, says Jonas Bjuggren, Regional Manager at Vasakronan in Uppsala.

The area measures approx. 1 000 sqm and will be available for occupancy by midsummer 2015.
